The Hartford, a financial-services company, has purchased Aetna Inc.’s group life and disability business for $1.45 billion. This transaction gives The Hartford access to Aetna’s digital assets, including its capabilities in workers’ compensation and disability claims processing.

Alyce Inc., the personalized gift-giving engagement platform, announced a $5.3-million financing round aimed at expanding its technology and accelerating sales.The investment was led by Boston Seed Capital with participation from Founder Collective, General Catalyst, Manifest Investment Partners and Golden Venture Partners.

The Carlyle Group, an alternative assessment-management company, has acquired BenefitMall, a provider of employee benefits and payroll services.

ServiceNow, a cloud-computing company, has joined forces with SAP SuccessFactors to offer integrated software that combines ServiceNow HR Service Delivery with SAP’s Employee Central data.


MOVE Guides, a global relocation and mobility-management group, announced it will partner with Team Relocations Group, a U.K.-based corporate-relocation agency. This partnership will integrate MOVE Guides’ technology platform with Team Relocation Group’s global infrastructure.

OutMatch, an analytics-based talent-selection platform, has acquired Pomello, an analytics-solution provider focused on understanding a company’s unique culture. This merger is intended to strengthen OutMatch’s predictive and actionable workforce analytics.

O.C. Tanner, an employee-recognition and workplace-culture company, announced it will offer clients an integrated well-being solution powered by Virgin Pulse.

Video and voice-interviewing solutions company Montage Talent and HR global services and staffing provider Randstad Holding NV announced a partnership that would enable the latter to use Montage’s technology.
