Diversity strategist and consultant Torin Ellis noted that while some organizations appear to be scaling back DEIB initiatives, those committed to it view it as integral to their identity.
âGiven the work that I do in diversity and inclusion in this political climate, in this social atmosphere, it is a very charged climate right now,â said Ellis. âAnd so navigating these choppy waters and these bumpy roads is a special art, and not a whole lot of people are doing that art exceptionally well.â
His work in business consulting emphasizes how technology can support operational DEIB goals and provide tangible returns on investment. He says tech is also important for a positive employee experience that aligns with the organization’s values.
Ellis is soon releasing a report, in partnership with Aptitude Research, on reducing bias in HR using AI. He will give a keynote presentation on this topic at the HR Executive Strategy Summit in November at Stein Eriksen Lodge Deer Valley in Park City, Utah. Ellis sat down with HR Executive Tech Editor Jill Barth at HR Tech for a video interview to share his advice for HR leaders on using technology in support of DEIB.
