What about the survivors? Take care of the employees that remain after a layoff.
In a recent survey of HR professionals in public and private organizations around the country, we discovered that most are forgetting to include a plan for the employees and managers who stay after a layoff or restructuring event. These companies are feeling the ill–effects of layoffs and restructuringevents, including:
- Negative impact on the employer brand
- Problems with talent acquisition
- Lack of motivation and confidence amongst employees
- Loss of productivity and engagement
The reasons are clear. Organizations lack the capacity to track their social media channels, alumni sentiment, and the emotional state of remaining employees and managers.
Do you have a plan in place to reestablish trust and create employee/employer relationships that will carry your company on to future profitability? If you don’t, you’re not alone.
