Starting a new job is a time of great excitement and can also create anxiety for the new employee and the hiring manager. The process of joining a company and getting acclimated, or “onboarding,” is a topic that many organizations review and refine in order to get the best results. Often, there are practices that are good, but that are performed or used inconsistently. Taking a people focused approach is one key way successful organizations outperform competitors. Onboarding is the way you bring someone into your company culture, not just a series of tasks and paperwork. When done properly, it is a process that can set the tone for the entire experience an employee has throughout his or her time with the company.
According to the HR Federation 2019 HCM Trends Report, a trend in onboarding is the idea of the candidate participating in a fully immersive experience that is a blend of current onboarding practices and virtual, illusory experiences. Currently, organizations are beginning to embrace technologies that provide a customized experience for candidates and new hires. In this webinar we share ways HR, recruiters and hiring managers can play a part in creating a superior onboarding experience.
We will explore:
- What onboarding includes
- Why onboarding matters
- Best practices to engage new hires
- Putting ideas into practice
