Google on the Move

Google leapt into the world of recruiting when it released Hire by Google, and it’s now working on a new feature focused on candidate discovery. This addition searches a company’s candidate database to discover high-potential employees and resurfaces applicants who performed well during interviews but either weren’t hired or declined the job.

Though the feature is still in beta, clients who currently use Hire by Google have access to candidate discovery.

Taking on Time Tracking

Earlier this year, Symphony Solution, a mobile-app-development company, launched PurelyTracking, a cloud-based workforce-management solution. The app offers real-time attendance tracking, including scheduling, leave management, work accountability, client-project management and data collection.

Employers can review and analyze productivity and show clients billable hours. PurelyTracking also integrates leave management with third-party payroll vendors, such as ADP or Paychex.

Accessible Social Collaboration

SAP Jam, the social-collaboration solution that extends across all of SAP’s products, announced updates to its platform that were designed to ease teamwork for visually impaired employees.

HTML header elements were added to multiple pages across SAP Jam to assist screen readers with understanding the entirety of a website. When using Internet Explorer 11, screen readers now have the capability to read and announce the values listed in drop-down menus. Updates were also made to content widgets and SAP Jam’s activity feed.

Let’s Play the (Mentorship) Match Game

Enterprise SaaS employee-engagement platform MentorCloud recently released MentorCloud Spark, a cloud-based mentoring platform designed to connect novice employees with experts at the same company. Spark is designed to help employees “test the waters” before they enter a formal mentoring relationship.

The platform aims to take some of the legwork out of selecting mentorships by using intelligent matching to pair a mentor with a mentee, and then both parties can decide if it’s a good fit and whether they should begin a long-term mentorship.

HR Meets Professional Services

TriNet, a provider of human resource services, now offers a product called TriNet Professional Services, an industry-specific tool designed to help meet the HR needs of professional-service firms. TriNet’s web-based platform includes comprehensive benefits, payroll administration, performance management, applicant tracking, and time, attendance and expense management.

Other features of TriNet’s solution include access to numerous large-group employee-benefits plans; access to a certified, professional HR team for guidance on termination, harassment and performance management; and risk-mitigation capabilities.

A Green Crystal Ball

Customers who use Greenhouse Recruiting, an enterprise talent-acquisition suite, now have access to Greenhouse Predicts. This newest feature was designed to estimate candidate-offer acceptance and new-hire start dates.

The prediction data then allow business teams impacted by a new hire (finance, operations and HR) to properly prepare.

Tapping into Digital Workforce Strategies

ManpowerGroup Solutions’ Managed Service Provider TAPFIN now uses transparent analytics and comparative-benchmarks platform IntelliReach for its clients’ workforce-strategy needs. IntelliReach digitizes the management tools and analytics to inform clients’ spend, calculate ROI and drive efficiencies across TAPFIN. The platform provides analytics and tools, such as the Total Workforce Index, a risk-assessment program that also analyzes global wages. This tool is designed to help organizations measure their workforce risk and analyze compliance.

Education in the Cloud

Saba Software, a provider of talent-management solutions, recently updated its cloud platform with the goal of enhancing the connection between employee development and performance. New capabilities were developed around redefining learning for employees and teams, including a personalized learning and content portal; curated, shareable learning collections; and real-time performance coaching, feedback and check-ins.

Digital HR for Small Businesses

The middle-market agency subsidiary of Marsh, Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC has introduced MMA HRLink, a digital platform designed to automate HR management and benefits administration for small businesses. MMA clients with fewer than 100 employees can use MMA HRLink to automate onboarding, manage time-off requests, and remain compliant with state and federal regulations, among other capabilities.

Harmonious Hiring with ST Health

Symphony Talent, a talent-acquisitions-solutions provider, recently released ST Health, a TA platform designed specifically for healthcare organizations. This tool aims to help TA professionals increase speed-to-fill and cost-per-hire.

ST Health provides a personalized candidate experience, including a video-based job search that is designed to help applicants understand the working environment within a healthcare facility.

Mapping Out Career Paths

ed2go, a provider of online instructor-facilitated courses and career-training programs for the adult-continuing-education and training markets, created Skill Map, a tool that aims to help job seekers close their skills gap. Skill Map shows career options, job-demand data and average salary information, along with the skills employers are looking for geographically.

Users build a skill profile and Skill Map sends personalized course recommendations designed to help them close gaps. From there, users can enroll directly in online courses with ed2go or any of its network of college and university partners.
