The countdown is on–just a few more days until the HR Technology Conference kicks off in Las Vegas on Sept. 28. I hope these weekly updates have been helpful and educational and worked to convince many of you to attend the event in person. If so, thank you! And for this final update before the conference, here are some last-minute bits of advice and recommendations from me–to help you have the best experience possible at HR Tech.

1. Download the CLEAR app and set up your proof of vaccination.

As I discussed here a few weeks ago, the conference has adopted a “Proof of Vaccination for COVID-19″ policy for all conference participants. Details on our Health and Safety Protocols for the event can be found here on our website. You will also find information on that page on how to set up the CLEAR app, which will be used on-site to show your proof of vaccination when you arrive. Trust me, it is super easy to do and will save you some time if you do that before arriving at the conference.

2. Download the HR Technology Conference mobile app.

You should definitely download the conference mobile app as well. The app has all the information you need on-site—session schedules and room locations, lists of exhibitors, maps of the Expo Hall, presentation materials, plan your schedule, and much more. It is truly the most useful resource for HR Tech attendees and is incredibly easy to use. Find it on the Apple App Store or Google Play.

3. (Loosely) Plan your schedule for the week.

Use the mobile app to find the sessions and events that you know are “can’t miss” and be sure to add them to your schedule. Then, maybe add in a few more things that you are pretty sure you would like to see, but leave at least some unscheduled time each day at HR Tech. There is so much to see and hear (and so many people to meet) at HR Tech that you want to be sure you have some open time for unplanned or serendipitous meetings and conversations.

4. Spend time in the Expo Hall.

As always, the Expo Hall will be full of the most interesting, innovative and leading-edge solutions in HR technology. You likely are already planning to meet some exhibitors, but mark some extra time each day just to explore a bit. Also, look over the schedule of events on the Expo floor—Pitchfest, Tech Talks, HR Happy Hour Shows, etc., and ensure that you maximize your research and exploration time in the hall.

5. Save some time to enjoy Las Vegas.

Whether you have a free day or two, or just a few hours to spare, there is no place quite like Las Vegas. And there is so much to do and see that there really is something for everyone—food, nightclubs, pools and much more. Chances are, you have not been back in Vegas for a bit so try to grab some “off-time” and reward yourself with some fun—I am pretty sure you deserve it!

That’s it from me. I hope to see you at the conference next week and if we do cross paths, be sure to stop me and say hello!
